This site is a place for thoughtful reflection on faith, identity, purpose, and the deeper questions that often emerge during life’s most difficult seasons.
For those who have spent years living within strong structures—through military service, leadership, or other weighty responsibilities—there often comes a time when those structures begin to shift, and familiar answers no longer feel sufficient. It is often in those quieter, more uncertain seasons that the most important questions rise to the surface: questions about meaning, suffering, identity, and what remains when life does not unfold according to plan.
Through writing and reflection, this space explores those questions with honesty, depth, and patience. The goal is not to offer quick solutions or polished clichés, but to invite deeper thought about resilience, purpose, and the kind of faith that endures when strength alone is no longer enough.
This is the home of the writing of Michael “Mike” Forehand, including After Military Service and future works centered on resilience, leadership, faith, and purposeful living.
If you are navigating transition, uncertainty, or a deeper search for meaning and purpose, you are welcome here.

After Military Service
Structure, Silence, and Becoming Unclaimed
After Military Service examines what follows when external demand disappears and identity once shaped by structure is exposed.
Rather than offering easy reinvention, the book reflects on the interior transition many experience when the uniform comes off and the questions begin.
“Sometimes the most difficult part of leaving service is not what you leave behind, but discovering who you are without it.”
